Aishah Kenton (b.1998)
Aishah Kenton is an early career photographer, primarily working with black & white 35mm and medium format film. Aishah is recently graduated with a Fine Arts degree (Maj. Photomedia) from School of Art and Design at the Australian National University in Canberra. Aishah achieved a mark of 96/100 for her graduating work To Whom it may Concern, and received the EASS Award from the Goulburn Regional Gallery (NSW).
With a strong interest in photographs made in her everyday environments, Aishah’s photographs embrace the immediacy of experience, offering insight to her relationship with the world; the acts of looking, feeling and responding are at the centre of her practice.
Aishah was selected for inclusion in the 2017 Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women at Brightspace Gallery in Melbourne, and in the same year was commissioned to photograph the cover of Art Monthly’s special 300th edition of the magazine.
Aishah lives between Canberra, Australia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is available for commissioned work.
