This beautifully produced retrospective by Aperture presents the work of Sergio Larrain, from his commissioned stories to his own personal photo albums. These sensitive photographs show the work of a man who was often not in love with photography, but seeking to live well. Towards the end of the book, Larrian asks "Why not take care of what you have?" Why not indeed. Larrain is a photographer whose personal work shows us a man who took care, and time, with what was, and those who were, closest to him. There is something here for anyone interested in documentary photography and the myriad of approaches followed by the 20th Century masters of the field.
