Vasili Vasileiadis | Service (1997-8)

Vasili Vasileiadis presents a personal, honest and poetic album of photographs from his time performing military service in Greece. From the intimate to the absurd, this body of work highlights the mundane nature of war and fighting, where young men with guns pose for photographs and horseplay as if they were on a camping trip. As a soldier himself, Vasili often gave his camera to his friends, who in turn, included him in many of his own pictures.
